A Christmas in July handmade
Only 5 months until Christmas- crazy, isn’t it! I like to start my holiday shopping early; we only buy for the grandkids now since there are a lot of us. But I also like to hand-make each grand something personal, something they will have to remember me by. This year it’s pillowcases. For the little ones, I’m thinking Christmas prints; for the older ones, a pattern that reminds me of them. This is a great use of that stash we all have, right?
Making a pillowcase is pretty simple and basic, and it allows you to get creative and make a custom case personal. The average pillowcase only takes a yard of fabric; you can embellish it with ribbons, lace, and some needlework; the possibilities are endless. It’s also a fun way to beat the heat and get a jump start on your holiday projects. Below is a well-made video to follow if you need the help. Put on some Christmas music and get sewing!
